"Baby's Best Week" Kickoff - GIVEAWAY!

Yippee! "Baby's Best" Week is here again and I can't tell you how much fun we're going to have! I've been busily gathering up all the latest and greatest tips, ideas and products to help you give your teeny tinys the best start possible.

Just to give you a little taste of what to look forward to this week, here are some of the topics we'll be tackling:

- Infant Safety for Moms On-The-Go
- From Carseat to Booster: When is it Time To Switch?
- Why I Switched to Formula (a mom's diary)
- The Power of Music on Little Ones
- Top Tips for Taking Baby Out on the Town

As usual, each day will have an awesome GIVEAWAY as well! In fact, let's get things kicked off right now with the first of 6 awesome prizes you can win this week...

The Sprout Shell, by Chic Infant Carrier Covers

What Is It?
A stylish cloth cover made to fit perfectly over your infant carrier. Not only does it protect tiny ones from the elements, but it keeps them away from light and noise so they can sleep soundly.

Why Do I Love It?
Because it doubles as a nursing cover! Pop your head through the middle and you've got a light-weight shield between your little one's feeding time and the outside world. The stretchy band around the bottom keeps the cover securely in place. Plus, it comes in all sorts of hip patterns and prints!

How Can You Win It?
I've got a darling Sprout Shell in Mod Dot Pink to give away to one lucky reader! Leave a comment here with your very favorite baby advice!
Due to my recent illness, I've decided to extend the deadline for this giveaway to November 2nd

In my opinion babies can't be spoiled so hold them as much as you want and can. They grow up way too fast. :)

My favorite baby advice...be flexible! Don't worry about trying to get a baby to sleep through the night, nap on a schedule, meet milestones at the same time as your friends baby, etc. Go with YOUR baby.

I always wished there was cool stuff like this when I had babies. There is the MOST amazing stuff out there now.

I can't take credit for this tidbit, I found on another blog a few months ago. Use a lingerie bag to wash baby's socks in that way you will never loose them.

Don't read all the baby books and think what they say has to be right. Do what you feel is good for YOUR baby and you'll be a great mom! I read a book that said (not exact words) rocking your baby to sleep and not training him to go to sleep on his own right away would be just horrible down the road. I say, forget that and hold your baby, rock your baby, and cuddle your baby too much because before you know it they're too big to hold and you'll want to cry!

Oh, my very favorite baby advice is to soothe a cranky baby by taking her in the bath or shower with you. Warm water and close contact usually does the trick--and can help soothe both mom and baby!

You hear a lot of things when you're pregnant, but one of the most useful things I was encouraged to do was to teach basic signs like "more, milk, cracker, stop, yes, please, thank you, etc." and it honestly made life a lot easier. When a 10 month old can tell you "more milk please" it's pretty special, especially as you avoid the crankiness of not being able to understand what they want.

Go with your instincts. You know what to do, being a mom is the most natural thing in all the world!

I think the best advice I have gotten is to not feel guilty about focusing on my child. They grow up so quickly and having a messy house or not being perfect at other things is okay.
