In honor of this week’s Summer Kickoff “Tee” party, let’s pay a little homage to the Tee, shall we? Did you know a long-sleeved Tee can be your best friend this summer on those long car trips? It’s true! Consider these handy tips passed along to me by many weathered Road Trippin’ Mamas:
- Starting with the obvious, a spare Tee is a life-saver for all the on-the-road spills. Especially so if you encounter a surprise bout of carsickness! Much handier than digging through luggage for clean clothes.
- If an in-car mess magically misses your child’s clothing, the Tee doubles well as a washrag for mopping up, oh say, the Coke that wasn’t properly lidded by the McDonald’s guy and thus splashed all over the front console (can you tell I’m speaking from experience?).
- Long-sleeves work well as temporary pant legs in the instance that your child squeezes the juice box exclusively on the bottom half of their body. Also great for the infamous newborn “blowout”.
- Paired with a burpcloth, a Tee can even serve as a temporary diaper, should you be caught without. (I’m embarrassed to admit I have personal experience here too!)
- Tuck the Tee into the top of a window to create a curtain, blocking the sun for those on-the-road naptimes.
- Heaven forbid something should go “kaboom”, take your Tee with you for a peek under the hood. Protect your hand from hot car parts and oil stains.
- Folded or bunched up, the Tee is a comfy pillow to prop up tired little heads.
- Wrap a couple of rubber bands around your balled-up Tee and the kids have a soft little toy to throw around when boredom sets in.

Hey great ideas! I love your blog! So sorry I have been non-exsistant. I could write a novel with what has happened in the past month or so. We'll have to catch up on the phone when we can really talk details. Let's go play for sure! I'm working 4 days a week AND doing my photography, so I am one crazy lady, but let's see if we can meet up one of these weekends. Maybe this weekend? Let's talk! take care!
Another tee idea: You can put one over a bucket seat to keep rear-facing kiddos' feet from getting the upholstery dirty.
just wanted to tell you I stopped by your fun blog! I am a fan of Amy's too :o)
